New Builder onboarding

Welcome, Builder.

Here's exactly how it goes, so you always know what's next.

Your personal folder links, dates, and job code arrive by email from hello@ceeattle.com.

Your punch list

Everything on your plate before kickoff, in order. Check them off as you go; your progress saves on this device.

01

Paperwork, done together

This part usually wraps before you land here, and it closes out in one confirmation email you can always find again.

  • SOW signed by both parties and saved to your shared 1_Builder Management folder
  • Deposit received and confirmed, with every payment logged
  • Invoice with your account and job code, saved to the same folder and attached for your records

Your job code (it looks like TIIAM1001) tags every file, invoice, and email in your engagement so nothing ever gets lost.

02

Upload your brand context

Drag and drop everything into your shared 3_Received Builder Docs folder. Messy is fine; that is what kickoff is for.

  • Photos and headshots you already have, from any era
  • Bio raw material, writing samples, and anything written about you or your work
  • Testimonial mentions, reviews, or features
  • Brand elements you already use, logos included
  • Anything else you want woven into the site

If anything's tricky, we prepare the folder together at kickoff. Not a problem at all.

03

Grant access

Two accounts power the build. Both stay yours; I work inside them as a collaborator.

  • Domain: add hello@ceeattle.com to your registrar (GoDaddy: Delegate Access. Squarespace: Contributor.)
  • Shopify: create your account on the $1 a month starter offer, Basic plan
  • Send me your store's exact staging URL, it looks like a32901.myshopify.com (found in Settings)
  • I request collaborator access, and you send me the 4-digit code from Settings, then Users and permissions
  • I confirm access is granted and we're wired up

You own the store, the domain, and every account. Collaborator access means I build without ever holding your keys.

04

Kickoff workshop

90 minutes, in person or on a call. We dig into your brand, your vision, and everything you uploaded, and we leave with decisions.

  • Bring yourself; the folder does the prep
  • We walk through your uploads, your positioning, and the plan week by week
  • Anything unfinished from steps 2 and 3, we do together on the spot
05

Tech setup and soft launch

Within days of kickoff, I connect your domain and put your branded holding page live. From that moment you are on the internet, and everything we build after happens behind a live brand.

Then we build: weekly 30-minute 1:1 syncs, and a Shipped email every time something goes live, with your feedback shaping the next pass.

The Wishlist

You can have everything you want, just not all at once. New ideas come up along the way, and they get parked on your shared Wishlist instead of stalling the launch. Either of us can call roundup to pause, add one to the list, and keep moving. After launch we review it together and decide what to build next, on your timing and budget.

What you cover directly

No surprises: a few platform costs are yours, paid straight to the provider. Shopify at $1 a month for the first 3 months, then about $40 a month. Your domain, usually under $25 a year. A one-time typography license, $105 to $200. And when your engagement includes a shoot, photographer fees are billed at cost with your approval before booking.

How we work

You author, I edit. Your voice stays yours, with structure and editorial feedback from me. Momentum is shared. Timely feedback and approvals keep your launch date; when something waits on either of us, the timeline moves with it. Done is defined. What done looks like is written into your SOW, so we always know when we have arrived.

Stuck on anything?

Bring it to kickoff and we'll do it together. Or write me anytime and we'll sort it before then.
